from 7pm (in the beer tent)

The evening will kick off with

The Castle Belles

This choir of ladies will show you a wide repertoire and enchant you with their harmonies of popular Country and Western songs

Bob & Jim – Appeared in the beer tent on the Friday evening back in 2013. A very popular duo with a repertoire to suit listeners and dancers alike. So a good choice to get the party started.

If you have been with us in recent years you will know how well Pedro can entertain. He will be with us again on Saturday night (see below for further details)

Festival “welcome” at 10.45am by the Westerners traditional charge down the hill to the arena,

10.50am sound engineer plays 10 minutes of tracks to get the atmosphere going, and then we bring on the first band of the day:

Darren & Don; a father & son act, very versatile with a touch of humour and a great choice to start the main festival.

Stubby is widely recognised as having one of the best voices on the country circuit. He has a wealth of experience – remembered as the main singer with the ground breaking trio ‘Lemon Grass’ back in the 80’s & 90’s. He also fronted the top trio ‘Corndogs’ before concentrating on his very successful solo career.

A find from our 2016 Showcase Stage, We are delighted to welcome back…

Those of you who were lucky enough to hear Emma perform last year on our Showcase Stage will know that we are in for a treat listening to this talented new country performer

A new band on the scene but each member has a wealth of experience which is evident in the quality of their shows. They are already receiving rave reviews and very much in demand. These guys are a great addition to the Welshpool festival.

Kay is blessed with great voice and she has a repertoire to suit the jiggers, dancers and listeners alike. Again, Kay is very popular on the country circuit and guaranteed to get her audiences involved.

Danny & his band are all seasoned performers. Danny fronted the very popular award winning ‘Band Named Sioux’ who toured Europe and Ireland back in 90’s The Danny Lee Bands focus is on the more traditional side of country music. These guys will provide an afternoon of material everyone can identify with and sing-a-long to.

and after them PEDRO will star in the Beer Tent until the wee hours

Having joined the Country circuit over 25 years ago PEDRO spent his time in all-live bands up until 2001 when he decided to take the plunge and go Solo for the first time. Initially he was very much a “Traditional-style” type of Country singer/guitarist, but in 2010 he decided to move much more into the ‘Line & Western Dance’ field – in doing so (and to show the public there is a difference in what they get) he changed his stage name from “Pedro” – as he always had been on the pure Country scene – to his actual name: Peter Barlow, when he does only the modern Line & Western dance favourites, and it has worked incredibly well.

When you add the “new” style of music to his act, and add his genuine warmth and ‘Mr.Happy’ nature to the Peter Barlow shows you can’t fail to have an enjoyable evening in his company.

9.45am welcome to the Sunday by the Westerners traditional charge down the hill to the arena.

9.50am sound engineer plays 10 minutes of tracks to get the atmosphere going, and then we bring on the first band of the day:

Pete & Stu need no introduction – as a trio they have graced the Welshpool stage on a few occasions and although Roger Mckew has now retired, Pete & Stu are still guaranteed to get the festival jumping.

Hayden and the lads will be making their long awaited debut at Welshpool. Very professional and very popular on the scene they will add their own style of entertainment to the afternoon’s proceedings.

Back on the scene after a 6 year break Dusty and the boys bring their own unique style of entertainment. They stand alone with their polished ‘pure country & western themed show’. Aimed mainly at the ‘Westerners’ and ‘Authentics’ – Dusty & the lads will have everyone on the warpath.

Another find from our 2016 Showcase Stage…

Tom Wright

Tom is New Country Singer who we have asked to come back to show his talents this year on our main stage. Not to be missed

KENNY ROGERS – Tribute by Peter White

A welcome return for Peter White, Peter made a big impact on the Welshpool stage back in 2015. Regarded throughout Europe as the closest thing to Kenny Rogers you are going to get. He looks like the man and delivers just like the man.

Quite simply, there is no better way to close the 30th anniversary of the Welshpool Festival.

And don’t miss the closing ceremony with the Welshpool Westerners parading into the arena and accompanied by PEDRO singing the Trilogy
