UK Americana artists, Robert Vincent Music & Danni Nicholls will be ‘Upstairs at the Dorset Arms East Grinstead on November 18; both Robert & Danni will perform solo.
Robert is an award winning singer songwriter from Liverpool who has just released ‘I’ll Make The Most Of My Sins’ as the follow up to the acclaimed, ‘Life in Easy Steps’. Robert recently won the ‘Emerging Artist’ Award from The Americana Music Association UK after being personally selected by Bob Harris, “I am so impressed with Robert’s music. Strong songs laced with blues and country. He is the real deal”
‘I’ll Make The Most Of My Sins’ was mixed in Nashville by legendary producer Ray Kennedy (Steve Earle, Emmylou Harris, Ray Davies, to name a few). Robert has recently finished his third Paul Carrack support tour and has also played alongside the likes of Peter Bruntnell, James Blunt, Justin Currie, Madeleine Peryoux and Cherry Ghost.
Growing up in Bedfordshire, Danni was enraptured by the sounds coming from her grandmother’s music player. The American roots, soul, rock n roll, country and folk which now permeates her own music. She always dreamed of visiting Nashville, where, in January 2015 she recorded her second full-length album ‘Mockingbird Lane’ with a team who have worked with the likes of Emmylou Harris, Tom Jones, John Prine, Robert Plant, Elvis Costello and many others. The same team, headed by producer Chris Donohue, created Danni’s 2013 critically acclaimed debut ‘A Little Redemption’.
Released in October 2015, ‘Mockingbird Lane’ – an album made up of “11 songs of the highest order, each a carefully crafted gem” (Maverick) shows Danni’s continuing skill and confidence as a songwriter. A vibrant, spell-binding singer and songwriter whom the legendary Bob Harris believes is “Just Terrific”, Danni Nicholls is one of the UK’s leading artists in this expansive genre ‘Americana’.
